Heavy Equipment Technician

 THE OPPORTUNITY: 

We are looking for a HEAVY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN to join our growing operations at our St. Rose, Louisiana location.  


YOU: 

The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing rental heavy equipment in the shop or in the field.  


YOUR CONTRIBUTION: 

  • You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative  maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment including diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, and electrical codes.
  • You will be responsible for removal and installation of rental equipment engine components according to industry standards and technical service manuals. 
  •  You will understand exchange parts process and financial cost analysis of repairs for our customers. 
  • You will create, track, and formalize work order documents on our customer service report software systems.

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent 
  • Prior technical training of heavy machinery / equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; Maintain a tool inventory; offers employees a Tooling Purchasing Program through Snap On.
  • Prior experience with Rental Equipment is helpful  


JOB FACTS:

  • Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm; may require working hours outside standard work schedule (specifics discussed during interviews)
  • Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing, and working with mechanical rotating parts in the Louisiana climate

Civil Construction Laborers

DESCRIPTION:  

We are currently looking for Laborers to join the Three C’s Properties / Civil Construction team. The primary responsibility is to provide physical labor for heavy civil construction projects located in the New Orleans area. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor on highway and heavy construction projects
  • Maintains a clean job site: pick-up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards 
  • Load and unload building materials to the appropriate location 
  • Assists other craft workers, such as equipment operators, cement finishers, pipe layers as needed
  • lnstall traffic barricades, cones, and markers as directed 
  • Dig trenches, mix and place concrete, and set braces to support the sides of excavations
     

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • The ideal candidate for this position has a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the construction industry 
  • Possess a Valid Driver’s License 
  • Must have a Valid Social Security Card 
  • Must have your own reliable transportation 
  • Have the ability to work in all weather 
  • Must be willing to travel within Louisiana.

Dump Truck Drivers

DESCRIPTION:   

Three C’s Properties is seeking  experienced Truck Drivers with a Class B CDL as well as Truck Drivers with Class C CDL to transport sand, dirt, gravel, asphalt, etc.  Truck Drivers are responsible for safely operating a truck while maintaining orders to customer satisfaction.


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate a truck safely while complying with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and with all company policies and procedures.

Must accurately complete logs and reports daily.

Perform daily truck cleanings and inspections (i.e. pre-operation walk around, check fluid levels (oil, water, fuel), examine for leaks and wear and tear, etc.).

Ability to work overtime, both scheduled and unscheduled, in order to meet the needs of our customers.

Familiar with local and surrounding area streets and highways.

Current medical card, Class B CDL or Class C CDL, and/or pass DOTD physical. 

Performs other duties assigned as assigned by the manager.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Construction Estimator

Three C’s Properties is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator, who is a career-oriented individual interested in growing with the company.


DESCRIPTION:  The Construction Estimator is responsible for bidding jobs based on construction drawing and managing jobs from start to finish.


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of complete quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate, and studies for all items incorporated in the assigned scope. 
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and all contract documents to determine any required scope that is not included. 
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals and vendor quotes relative to their scope of work. 
  • Solid understanding of civil construction estimating, blueprints, and the bidding process.
  • Familiarity with bid solicitation platforms (ISqFt, etc.).
  • Ensure all bidders are licensed,      insured, and or bonded, as required for each project.
  • Accounts receivable tracking and inquiries to provide monthly cost and revenue projections. 
  • Receive and manage purchase orders,      subcontracts, and change orders. 
  • Attend pre-construction site visits (Occasional travel for site visits may be required).


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

The estimator must be able to make simple conversions and calculations between different units of measurement and be able to compute rate, ratio, and percentages as needed.

Dispatcher

The Dispatcher position is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and scheduling truck routes, mileage, job location assignments, and maintenance, as well as drivers.


DUTIES include but not limited to:

  • Dispatch trucks for daily work and monitor daily routes. 
  • Monitor GPS to ensure best routes are taken to job sites.
  • Monitor fuel mileage and GPS scores for the performance of trucks and drivers.
  • Monitor and schedule truck maintenance needs.
  • Track daily operations.
  • Confirm pit prices and locations and ensure jobs are running through the most cost-effective pit.
  • Daily check-in and confirmation of company driver tickets.
  • Monitor and track daily care of trucks documenting any issues.
  • Manage Driver Employee Files, keeping track of driver credentials, arranging any updates needed, and keeping track of driver’s performance.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of the greater New Orleans area
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience operating a dump truck.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with peers, managers, and clients. 
  • Effectively communicate and direct the activities of others.
  • Dependable & flexible with a willingness to work the hours necessary.
  • Exhibit sound business judgment and leadership.

Diesel Technician Shop Manager

The Diesel Technician Shop Manager will utilize his/her mechanical expertise to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe and timely manner.  To be qualified, all applicants must have 1-3 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic equipment, and electrical components. The ideal candidate will have intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and other systems. The candidate should also have strong mechanical background knowledge, particularly with various engines, a basic understanding of schematics and diagrams, own the tools applicable to perform the job, and exhibit teamwork, verbal, and written skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicates equipment issues with customers and supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning units using Cat Et and   Cummins Insight software programs.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs.
  • Prepare and submit detailed, complete, and legible service reports of all inspections and repairs performed using prescribed forms and procedures in a timely manner. 
  • Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend moderately difficult computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications. 
  • Maintain an organized and neat bay.
  • Performs other duties assigned as assigned by the manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years experience as a mechanic with Heavy Equipment is preferred.
  • Must be physically able to work in a job site environment for extensive periods to include lifting up to 50lbs, bending,      squatting, crouching, and reaching.
  • Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred 
  • Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience preferred

Lowboy Driver

This position performs duties related to the movement of inventory, and heavy equipment. Responsible for operating trucks equipped with various configurations of dump bodies. Loads and facilitates the movement of equipment using various tilt deck and lowboy trailers. 


Responsibilities:

  • Operate truck safely to and from destination while obeying all traffic laws.
  • Maintains load tickets for material picked up and delivered daily and keeps detailed timesheets.
  • Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel, and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle prior to operation.
  • Safely operate equipment and attachments that will be moved. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance such as general equipment cleaning, checking fluid levels, lubrication, maintaining tire pressures, and changing implements or attachments.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. 
  • Knowledge of all USDOT & FMCSA safety regulations.
  • Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines.
  • Call in their own permits and escorts. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL License and current medical certification is required.
  • Must be able to Operate & Load Inventory. 
  • Must have Computer Skills.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • 2-3 years Lowboy experience is preferred.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen, background check, motor vehicles records check, and DOT physical. 
  • Well-developed communication skills both verbal and written.
